Re: Who will stop the future LASIK andPRK disasters? maybe Obama? :D

Torero-
This board is to alert the public, or at least those investigating
refractive surgery, to see what might be "out there" besides "great
outcomes."
LaserMyEye was brought to life about 6 years ago by Rebecca Petris,
who did not have a good outcome from Lasik. I had a bad outcome 10
years ago and I'm still suffering bad vision, best corrected 20/50
left eye and 20/100 or something in right eye. I need cataract surgery
in the right eye, but I already had cataract surgery in the left eye
and it left me at -4.5 without correction. I just ordered new glasses @
$500 (progressive bifocalds) and even wearing them, my vision will be
awful. I'm barely legal to drive. I do not or cannot drive at night.
If I drop one more line of vision in my left eye, I will not be able
to pass my license vision requirements.
Many of us, such as Rebecca and me, have been posting and raving (me)
on these boards for a long time trying to get people to listen. We've
taken a lot of criticism and outright nastiness from those who dispute
any difficulties. That's about the best we can do. As long as there is
$$$$ in this type of medical procedure, docs will be flocking to it.
Or, as OC says until the next "new" type of surgery comes along. Lucy

Torero, those of us who have been "injured" know we cannot make a
major impact in the refractive surgery businesss. In 10 years, I've
been on boards like this, done tv and newspaper spots telling about my
outcome. I lost my work because of it, how much of my life shall I
give to this go$#$mn disability? I can't see, barely legal to drive
and I've given, as many others have as much as we can to disgust
others on this subject. If one wants to take our info, it's here and
they can make up their own mind.
Apparently killing people on the road and internet whining is
important to this battle axe.
